Read the text and choose the correct answer to the question. 8 баллов Jason: Well, I have to say that I’m really enthusiastic about the course I’m doing now. I’ve heard a lot of people say that when you do an arts course like this you spend too much time studying on your own, and they are totally against students having to plan their own time. But in my view, you’ve got to spend lots of time reading and thinking things through if you’re doing this sort of degree, and I enjoy that, so I approve of the timetable. I personally think the lectures are very good ― we have them four mornings a week, and then we get reading lists. Every week we look at several authors, playwrights or poets from a particular period and have to write essays and prepare presentations for our fortnightly seminars. If you’ve got strong opinions on something, you can put them across then, or when you go to your weekly tutorials. I believe it’s a very good way of learning if you’re well-motivated and good at organising your time. What subject does Jason study? English literature Architecture Psychology 3. He appreciates the idea of having a timetable on such a course. He is absolutely against having a timetable. He doesn’t think a timetable influences his study. 4. What does the word “fortnightly” mean? happening every two weeks happening every week happening once a month 5. Read the text and choose the correct words. 24 балла Nancy: I found my course really difficult at first, because we start every day with three different lectures. There’s just so much new information to take in all the time, and then we spend all afternoon in the laboratory doing experiments. It’s all about test tubes and (observing; filling; looking) how different substances react and behave. But this is my second term, and now I’m (convinced; disappointed; not sure) that the system really works. I’ve learnt a huge amount in a short time, so I really appreciate having the lectures each morning. I don’t have a lot of free time, but we don’t have to write long essays yet ― I’m in favour of concentrating on the experiments for now ― just writing them up and drawing (endings;sum up; conclusions).
